After six years of constantly testing out different study methods, I still don’t feel like I’ve got down that one perfect system that works for me. But one thing I will swear by is this- Youtube channels for medical students are an absolute godsend.
When lectures by boring professors never make any sense, and when going through textbooks feels like a complete waste of time, these Youtube channels are the only reason I even survived med school.
Trust me, you’re going to want to bookmark these!

The Ultimate Youtube Channels for Medical Students
Ninja Nerd
When I first came up with this post idea, the first channel that came to mind was none other than Ninja Nerd. The reason I think every medical student needs to be watching him, literally from year 1, is because he’s got everything from basic pre-med stuff (biochemistry, physiology) to courses in clinical medicine.
I still regularly use his videos and learn so much from them even now that I’ve graduated. Definitely one of the best youtube channels for medical students.
The only thing I would complain about is that his videos are on the longer side, so sometimes it’s hard to go through a video in one sitting. But that says more about my attention span than his content.
Kenhub
Kenhub is the ultimate youtube channel for anatomy! This was my most used channel during my third year when I was drowning in my anatomy course.
Anatomy was never my strongest subject (and it still isn’t). It can be especially difficult because it’s so abstract, and it’s really hard to truly visualize all the muscles, blood vessels, and nerves inside the human body without actually seeing it.
Kenhub has very clear and well-designed illustrations that guide you step by step and make complex structures so much easier to understand and remember.
Armando Hasudungan
I love Armando Hasudungan for his hand-drawn illustrated notes. His videos are beautifully paced because he walks you through each process with simple animations. This really gives you plenty of time to actually process and understand the lecture.
As a graduated medical girly, I am currently going through his dermatology series. It’s honestly such a remind that these youtube channels for medical students aren’t just for students, but definitely also for the ol’ doctors who have long since graduated!
Osmosis from Elsevier
Osmosis has some paid content, but honestly their free videos are plenty enough if you’re looking for short, efficient refreshers. They don’t go extremely in-depth, but they’re perfect for quick reviews or for getting a clean overview before diving deeper with other resources.
I often use Osmosis when I need to quickly retrieve my memory of a certain topic or for brief overviews.
Medicosis Perfectionalis
And last but definitely not least, Medicosis Perfectionalis has got to be my personal favorite youtube channel for medical students. I’m pretty sure this channel alone carried me through my final board exams last year.
His videos are incredibly well-structured, concise, and super funny. It’s pretty rare to find such humor in medical education, and I love it.
Not gonna lie, it was mostly his humor that kept me coming back. I really needed it in times of high stress exam season. He has such a lighthearted tone, uses hilarious illustrations, and packs his videos with a bunch of great mnemonics.
Medicosis Perfectionalis is a great reminder that studying medicine doesn’t always have to feel heavy.
These are some of my most used youtube channels throughout medical school.
Let me know what are some of your favorite youtube channels for medical students!
Until next time,
Emily
